>.1.2 Samples' types

The types of samples sent to buyer are varied according to the buyers’ nature. The factory always should be able to submit the sample whenever buyer asks for them.
There are some samples most commonly send to buyers and reason for sending them have described below.

Fit samples:
These are mainly sent to buyers for approvals of the measurements of the garment. After fit on garments to dummies, the buyer comments on the garment and mention what are the adjustments which should be done to the garment. When the comments are sent back to the garment supplier, the pattern maker changes the base pattern of the garment according to the buyer’s comments.
The adjusted sample is once again sent to the buyer. If the second fit sample also rejected, the factory has to go even to the 3rd fit sample until it gets the approvals.

Strike off samples:
These samples are sent to get approval on printed garment.
The factory prints designs according to buyer’s instructions and then factory send a sample for the approvals. If the buyer not satisfied with placement of the print design, he comments on it and feedbacks sent to the garment supplier. He does the adjustment for the print design and once again a new sample is sent to the buyer for approvals. The garment supplier has to repeat the same thing if the sent samples are rejected.

Pre-production samples:

The factory only has to send PP samples after the order confirmation from buyer. Buyer never ask for the PP sample without confirming the order and if the buyer asks for PP samples that means the buyer ready to place the order to factory.
PP samples have to be done from actual materials used for the bulk productions. In that case the factory has to stock their raw materials before the buyer ask for PP samples.
This is the last sample which garment supplier has to submit before the bulk production. The sample should be so neat and ensure its quality very well.
The buyer inspect in this PP sample regarding, fabric, trims, finishing, stitching, labels, packing trims etc. Actually these sample are representing the garments which come out from bulk production and they show how the actual garments are going to be like

TOP samples
These samples are sent after the bulk production started. The buyer request for sample during the production process and he needs to ensure that the garment quality is in requested standards. These samples are very important to both factory and the buyer, as it changes can be done at the beginning of the production if there were any issue with garments.

Shipment samples:
These are sent before every shipment of garment delivery to buyer, by informing the nature of the garments to be shipped.
